Module Media | An innovative web design and application development firm with a passion for web standards

Module Media helps Yamagata America give Sony eSupport a facelift.

About the client

Established in 1989, Yamagata America, Inc. helps companies transcend language, cultural and geographic barriers to effectively communicate with customers around the world. Yamagata America works closely with numerous digital print facilities and expert native-tongue translators around the world. This allows them to provide U.S.-based companies with a single point of contact for developing manuals, user guides, and marketing collateral. Clients include Fortune 500 companies, such as Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Fujitsu and Honda.

About the project

Yamagata America approached Module Media to help them with designing a Web-based version of the Sony Bravia series of television manuals as a proof of concept for Sony and other clients moving forward. The challenge included building a new web site that was clean, easy-to-use, and structured in such a way that the information within the web site was easy to find, aesthetically pleasing to the end user, and more importantly, that the web site could be easily tailored to future clients once the project was over.

Built entirely using standards-compliant technologies, the web site incorporates valid XHTML for structure, CSS for presentation and the custom built three-tier navigation menu, and JavaScript to control image display for interactive components such as selections made from the illustrations of the remote control and component inputs from the back of the television. A global template was created to satisfy the requirement of a simple-to-setup design for future client projects moving forward. Utilizing this template-driven web site approach, Yamagata America has successfully begun work on new Web-based client manuals for it's expanding client base.

From our client

“We worked with Module Media for one of our biggest projects; launching a new website for our client. Module Media created a complete template so that we can continue working on our own. They were always available to answer any questions we had. Their experience and knowledge helped us to succeed in our project. We could not achieve our goal without Module Media’s assistance. Module Media comes highly recommended!” -Noriko Morita, Project Leader
