Module Media | An innovative web design and application development firm with a passion for web standards

Module Media helps La Mesa Florist "Pedal" flowers online.

About the client

La Mesa Florist, Inc. is a family owned and operated florist based in La Mesa, California. Backed by service that is both friendly and prompt, La Mesa Florist is committed to offering only the finest floral arrangements and gifts for its customers. La Mesa Florist specializes in a wide range of services including providing floral arrangements from various flowers, tropical's, and plants, European/dish gardens, contemporary and traditional arrangements, high-style floral arrangements, weddings, funeral designs, specialized gifts, gourmet and fruit baskets, gift baskets, greeting cards, and candles.

About the project

La Mesa Florist approached Module Media in an effort to transition its online store from Teleflora. Due to rising costs and revised contractual obligations set forth by Teleflora, La Mesa Florist felt it necessary to transition over from a web site that was built, hosted, and maintained by Teleflora, to one that was custom and better suited to the needs of this family owned and operated business. Essentially, a company that had been in existence for decades was starting over as it related to its web presence.

Built entirely using open source technologies, Module Media helped La Mesa Florist rediscover its online presence. We transitioned La Mesa Florist to a new web hosting provider, purchased and configured their online payment gateway, bought and installed their SSL certificate, designed and skinned their new website, and developed and configured their online store, configuring it to meet the needs of the floral industry. Their new website outlines a featured productions section, newsletter subscriptions, detailed information per floral arrangement, arrangement customization options, new user registrations complete with account management, intuitive view cart features, and a payment system that supports floral deliveries (as opposed to shipping options) complete with integration for Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Diners Club, and more. Furthermore the payment system support CVV for tighter security and features a robust and easy-to-use administrative console for managing floral arrangements/inventory, customers, orders, newsletter subscriptions, specials, coupons, and more.

From our client

“I found Module Media through a referral. I was in a situation that I needed a website built in a very timely fashion. I was leaving Teleflora which was providing the website for La Mesa Florist and I had approximately 30 days to have a new site up and running before my contract expired. Module Media were great and easy to work with. The bottom line is I now have a great website with many of my regular customers finding La Mesa Florist as well as a whole new clientele.” -Karen Smith, Owner
